Scenes From the 2013 Serious Eats Cookie Swap

It's that time again, that magical time of year when we dedicate an entire night to the act of stuffing ourselves silly on sugar and punch at the annual Serious Eats Cookie Swap. (What's a Cookie Swap, you say? Check out previous editions here and here, and pick up some tips on how to throw one yourself right this way).

We had a whopping 45 cookies this year, including everything from sesame-studded "Chinatown black and whites" to Russian tea cookies to several variations on classic chocolate chip. A few non-strictly-cookie offerings snuck in there, too, including homemade canelés from Sweets contributor Niko Triantafillou to Max's pistachio millionaire's shortbread cookie bars (that's okay, we love canelés and millionaire shortbreads, too). Also, festive punch!

Click through the slideshow to check out all the cookies, and feel free to email us for any specific recipes you're angling to add to your home collection (because we can't test all of the recipes, we've decided against publishing them, but we're happy to send them along as they came in!).

So, what's your favorite holiday cookie to make? Let us know in the comments!

But wait, there's more! Follow Serious Eats on Facebook, Twitter,Pinterest, and Google+!
