Who says bald is always bad? The smooth cousins of peaches, nectarines provide the right level of fruity sweetness for the interior of these hand pies.

Some hand pies are made in muffin tins, but these are simply shaped like turnovers—which makes them easily portable to picnics, beach campfires, and anything else you may be doing on these last days of summer.
