Thin, crispy cookies have their place, but when I'm looking for an afternoon snack, it's a big, thick, chewy cookie that I need. The selection at Batter Bakery all fits the bill, so it was just a matter of choosing a flavor. The Cherry Ginger Cookie immediately caught my attention because I've seen cherry (usually with chocolate) and I've seen ginger, but never together.
The flavor was a bit more of a molasses-tinged gingerbread than the sharp, spicy ginger I had hoped for, but it still went well with the big hunks of plump cherries. You can really sink your teeth into the soft yet chewy cookie, pulling off big, aromatic chunks. In short: a bit of spice, a bit of fruit, and notes of brown sugar—definitely a satisfying snack at $2.75
