Have you noticed the sugar-free Dessert Delights flavors from Extra? They're a little bit like those premium yogurts which promise the same levels of delight as eating a slice of cheesecake at a fraction of the calories. It started out innocently enough, with options like mint chocolate chip and strawberry shortcake, but in recent months, the flavor engineers at Extra have added more eyebrow-raising additions to the line-up, incuding apple pie, root beer float, and rainbow sherbet. We tried them all.
Some are better than others, but the two things which all the varieties share are an intense aroma (in most cases, much stronger than the actual flavor of the gum), and a limited flavor lifespan where there's a sharp peak followed by an almost immediate decline. Because the rush is short-lived, so is the novelty. But with that being said, there are a few flavors worth trying. Check out the slide show to see which packs are worth picking up, and which ones to pass on.
