We've been loving FedNuts' wild doughnut flavors and all around awesome fried chicken since they opened back in November, and this collaboration with Art in the Age couldn't be more exciting. Here in Philly, Art in the Age has been putting out some singular spirits for quite a while now—including ROOT, a beer-centric root blend of anise, cloves, cardamom, birch, and spearmint; SNAP, which tastes like liquid gingersnaps; and their latest, RHUBY, a rhubarb based tipple scented with pink peppercorns and vanilla.
The three doughnuts are not only inspired by the Art in the Age spirits but also made with them. The Root Beer Float is iced with vanilla, glazed with both ROOT and root beer, and tastes exactly like its ice cream soda namesake. Strawberry Rhubarb Pie is spring-perfect with a sweetness balanced by tart notes of rhubarb. And the Gingersnap Cookie is topped with a fantastic gingersnap cookie crunch and just the right amount of salt.
Just like all of the other equally amazing limited edition donuts that FedNuts has offered, these guys are fleeting—so make sure to stop by between April 20th to April 29th. (And check out the za'tar chicken while you're at it, it does not disappoint.)
