Taking the same fun, sweet, and just a little sassy tone that we love, Wilson has put together a book filled with one hundred of her favorite comforting sweets and a handful of savories. But Wilson's idea of comfort sweets has a little more panache than a workaday cupcake or a blasé brownie. Her banana bread gets spiked with bourbon, chocolate chip cookies are enlivened with brown butter, and a birthday cake is flavored with peanut butter. It's easy to love the way that Wilson thinks.
For the next two weeks we'll be baking our way through Joy the Baker beginning with an Extra Crumb Coffee Cake (because the crumb topping really is the best part), followed by Peanut Butter Bacon Cookies, as well as a few other innovative goodies.
