Most of the territory we cover here at Bake the Book revolves around what happens after dinner (i.e. dessert), but for the next two weeks we're getting an earlier start. We're going to be baking our way through all of the breakfast treats in CakeLove in the Morning, the latest from D.C. baker extraordinaire Warren Brown. CakeLove in the Morning is the kind of cookbook that makes it easy to wake up in the morning, filled with all sorts of exciting ideas for A.M. edibles. Brown shares recipes for everything from pancakes and waffles to muffins, scones, and breakfast friendly cakes. And who doesn't like an excuse to eat cake for breakfast?
Being a breakfast book, there are of course plenty of savory, eggy dishes that are tasty enough to inspire an impromptu brunch get together—but we're going to be focusing in on the sweeter side of things. For the next two weeks we're going to be firing up the griddle for Coconut Milk Flapjacks, mixing up Lemon-Almond Muffins, and buttering the Bundt pan for Cinnamon-Sugar Coffee Cake.
