If you're looking to fill a candy bowl or show up with a tasty hostess gift, this chocolate-covered assortment fits the bill. Skip the chocolate-covered fig option (they're a bit too sweet) and go with the Equinoxe Collection box, which is full of an assortment of chocolate-covered snacks.
The little milk chocolate covered biscuit balls are quite addictive, milky and crunchy like a malt-free Whopper. You may find yourself popping them by the handful. Almonds and hazelnuts come enrobed in both milk and dark chocolate. We finished the dark chocolate ones first, but your mileage may vary. The nuts are well-toasted and flavorful, which we appreciated (we do hate a bland nut.)
Our unexpected favorites, though, were the tiny chocolate-covered balls of candied orange, which were surprisingly strong in orange flavor and not too sweet. They'd be excellent alongside a cup of coffee (or as a garnish on a dark chocolate cake.) You can also buy them on their own.
Equinoxe Collection box, $35.99. Sample provided for review.
