Fun Dip
Fun Dip

"I like Fun Dip...actually that's not on a stick, that is a stick. D'oh! Um. Mmm. Well. When I was really little, rock candy seemed like the most awesome magical thing. So pretty! Looks like crystals! ..On a stick!" —Robyn Lee

"Does Fun Dip qualify as candy on a stick?" —Alaina Browne

"It's fun, it's dip, and you can eat the stick afterward." —J. Kenji Lopez-Alt

A Good Caramel Apple on a Stick
A Good Caramel Apple on a Stick

"There is no doubt as to my answer to this thought-provoking question about stick candy. A good caramel apple simply has no peer in the candy-on-a-stick arena. Why?

Because even bad caramel makes a perfect sweet-and-sticky-if teeth-destroying foil for a fresh, crispy, Granny Smith or Macoun apple that supplies some much-needed acidity and juiciness to every bite. If said caramel apple is coated with nuts, that's even better, because the nuts add some, well, crunchy nuttiness.

Only my dentist stands to benefit more than my taste buds when I bite into a caramel apple." —Ed Levine

Blue Tootsie Roll Pops
Blue Tootsie Roll Pops

"I'm not a lick-until-the-center person, but a suck-until-the-candy-thins person; I love the satisfying crunch when you get the shell just thin enough to chomp through to the Tootsie Roll core." —Carey Jones

See's Candy Lollypops
See's Candy Lollypops

"There are lollipops, and then there are See's lollipops. They last forever—as in, sometimes I have to take halftime breaks while working on one. My record time for finishing one is 37 minutes. The little blocks on as stick are creamier and richer than a lollipop should be. My favorite is the Chocolate but they have a Pumpkin Spice flavor during fall (yes, please)." —Erin Zimmer

"They're a dentist's nightmare, but I do love the Sugar Daddy. I guess I just have a weakness for caramel." —Maggie Hoffman

Slo Pokes (no longer made)
Slo Pokes (no longer made)

"I loved Slo Pokes when I was a kid. I don't even know if they make them. Wait ... Google, help me ... No. It appears that they've been discontinued. If you're too young to know them, they're sort of like the Sugar Daddy lollipops of the previous slide — caramel-vanilla flavor — except they weren't as melty as Sugar Daddy is. Not melty at all, really. Slo Pokes really were slow. They lasted for. ever. Google also tells me that apparently Slowpoke (with the w this time) is the name of a Pokemon character. Times change. Candy Addict has a nice entry on them here." —Adam Kuban
