The Scoop: Ben & Jerry's Oatmeal Cookie Chunk

I'm a fan of all cookie dough ice creams—the cookie dough-ier, the better. The only problem with that flavor, though, is that there's nothing cookie dough-like about the ice cream. It's just little blobs suspended in vanilla. Why do I love Ben & Jerry's Oatmeal Cookie Chunk? It tastes all cookie all the way through. More

We Tried Ben and Jerry's New Schweddy Balls Flavor

Remember this SNL sketch back in the Ana Gasteyer and Molly Shannon era? The two were hosts of "Delicious Dish," an NPR-parodying radio show and in this yuletide-themed sketch from 1998, Alec Baldwin played their guest Pete Schweddy, the owner of Season's Eatings Bakery. It's been a while, but an SNL classic like that isn't forgotten. Ben & Jerry's just decided to release a Schweddy Balls flavor, now available nationwide. More

Ben & Jerry's New Flavor: Jimmy Fallon's 'Late Night Snack' with Potato Chips

The latest in the Ben & Jerry's flavorsphere: Jimmy Fallon's "Late Night Snack," which has a vanilla bean base with salty caramel swirls and crunchy fudge-covered potato chip clusters. So basically potato chip ice cream. Mmm, yup, pretty sure we approve. The concoction was inspired by a Late Night with Jimmy Fallon skit in which Fallon and The Roots performed an original song, "Ladysmith Snack Mambazo" about B&J's ice cream. Look for it in a freezer section near you this week. More

Ben and Jerry's New Bonnaroo Buzz Flavor

Add this to the list of Ben & Jerry's flavors inspired by music, right after Cherry Garcia, Dave Matthews Band Magic Brownies, and Imagine Whirled Peace (the John Lennon tribute flavor). In conjunction with Bonnaroo, the music festival in Manchester, Tennessee, Ben & Jerry's is releasing Bonnaroo Buzz. It's pretty much just their Coffee Heath Bar, but with an alliterative name and some extra caramel swirls thrown in there. If you like coffee ice cream and Heath Bar—and in my very unscientific research, I've found that penchants for the two seem to overlap—you'll really like this one. More

Ben and Jerry's Flavor Graveyard

One of the best and worst things about Ben & Jerry's: they're always introducing new flavors. But with that comes some rough goodbyes to the retired flavors. Just when you started falling for Bovinity Divinity, it's nowhere to be seen in freezers. At the Ben & Jerry's factory in Waterbury, Vermont, they have an actual graveyard—as in, there are headstones and it's on a grassy knoll—for these late flavors. Let's take a moment to remember them.
