Every year I get a bit of an anxiety attack as January rolls around. As the editor of a Sweets blog, it's upsetting to know that so much of the population gives up my beloved genre of food as part of their New Years resolutions to eat healthier.
It's not that I don't get it. Even I get a bit sugar-ed out by January 1, and it can be nice to take a break from the onslaught of holiday cookies, cakes, and pies. So while I won't stop peddling sweets (I'd be out of a job), throughout January we'll experiment with some fruit-based, raw, vegan, and gluten-free desserts that might fall in line with people's resolutions.
