Yesterday I shared my experience tasting my way through every savory morsel at Piroshky Piroshky, the purveyor of Russian piroshki—individually-sized pies with sweet or savory fillings, wrapped in dough and baked—at Pike Place Market. This ever popular spot doesn't just make savory piroshki, though, they sell sweet versions of the Russian pies as well.

Not wanting to leave things half-finished, I enlisted a friend to help me taste through every sweet concoction they make. And, truthfully, they were all pretty good. Sometimes a flavor was promised—white chocolate or cocoa, for instance—that didn't really materialize on the palate, but the overall tastes remained solid and never too sweet. Our favorites were at the extreme ends: a conservative but delicious cinnamon roll with apple and an oddly good pastry filled with Cream of Wheat and Bavarian cream. This might be my Seattle bias, but I'd enjoy any of these with a good cup of coffee.
