American Classics: Pumpkin Cookies and Cream Ice Cream
For those of us who are in full on autumn mode, it's all about the pumpkins. This year in particular, I feel like I'm seeing pumpkin treats everywhere I go. There are many ways to get your pumpkin fix in ice cream form, but this might just be my new favorite.
I remember when I discovered Cookies 'n' Cream ice cream as a kid. One of my cool older cousins put it on my radar. For the longest while it was definitely in my top three favorite flavors and I'm certain it contributed to my ongoing love affair with ice creams that are chock full of crunchy, chewy, gooey treats. I also remember when I first discovered pumpkin ice cream at our local scoop shop. It was everything I loved from the Thanksgiving dessert table—in other words pumpkin pie flavor in ice cream form.
Inspired by Max's genius Pumpkin Brownie Chunk Ice Cream, I've married my two great ice cream loves in a recipe that's a real winner for Serious Eaters who enjoy the pumpkin + chocolate combo as much I do.
