At last count, there were 1,399 recipes by Grace Parisi on the website for Food and Wine magazine. That's because for over 12 years, Parisi was their Senior Test Kitchen Editor, which meant developing and testing recipes for both the print magazine and for the series of Food and Wine cookbooks. In addition, she did occasional spots on TV shows like Today and Good Morning America and penned two of her own cookbooks—one of them, Get Saucy (2005), was a James Beard Award nominee. Oh yeah, she's also a serious long distance runner, guitar player, and has an enviable garden in the backyard of her Brooklyn home.
Parisi is now working on various projects, including a website and another cookbook, from home, which gave us the chance to stop in and answer the question, So what does a day in the life of a food writer slash author slash recipe developer look like, anyway?
