Whereas some other recipes from The Ice Creamists' aren't as boozy, there's a solid cup and a quarter of hard cider in each batch of this recipe. A little lemon adds a tart twist.

Tweaks: Since it's summer, apples aren't so much in season. Skip the step of hollowing out an apple and use a lemon instead, or no fruit at all. A drier cider, with less sugar, would be your best best to use here.
