Lady M Cake Boutique opened its doors on NYC's Upper East Side in 2004. Since then, the bakery has accumulated a dedicated following of customers enamored with Lady M's light and refined desserts.
Inspired by his summers spent in Japan while growing up, Lady M's owner, Ken Romaniszyn (who is half-Japanese), set out to bring the flavors of Japanese desserts to the U.S. "The desserts are beautiful and delicious, but not too sweet," says Romaniszyn. Lady M's iconic Mille Crêpes, made with over 20 layers of paper-thin crêpes interlaced with airy whipped cream, are the epitome of this subtle sweetness and have become the bakery's signature creation.
Lady M recently expanded to open a shop in the Plaza Food Hall in NYC's Plaza Hotel and will open a Bryant Park location in the coming months. Los Angeles residents will also soon be able to get their hands on Lady M's Mille Crêpes and light sponge cakes—Romaniszyn and company just got the permit to start construction on their L.A. boutique.
