American Classics: Golden Grahams S'mores Bars

A cold front has blown in for the Northeast and has me longing for the stuff of summer: swimming at the lake, fireflies, s'mores. It will be a good long while before I'm in front of a fire pit armed with marshmallow for roasting, but my desire for hibernation doesn't necessarily need to conflict with my yearning for s'mores—especially when I can make s'mores bars easily at home.
Cereal bars are forever linked in my mind with pure nostalgia. They're the stuff of bake sales and elementary school celebrations. Turns out Golden Grahams are a bit of a divisive topic around these parts. I can't help myself, I love 'em. They were one of the few "sugar cereals" my mom would occasionally allow into the house. I've made some highfaluting "Indoor S'mores" before, using fancy chocolate and homemade marshmallows, but sometimes you just want an easy fix and these bring me straight back to the lunchroom.
