Candied Gingerbread Men
These spicy, chewy-crisp gingerbread men get a pop of flavor from pureed candy ginger. Bow-ties optional.
Gingerbread Icebox Cake with Mascarpone Mousse
The term "cake" is used loosely here, but we doubt you'll mind. Part elegant holiday centerpiece, part little-kid fantasy, this tower of cream and cookies is as delicious as it is stunning.
Chocolate Gingerbread Cupcakes with White Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting
Gingerbread cupcakes get a twist with the addition of cocoa, and it's all topped with an indulgent white chocolate cream cheese frosting.
Gluten Free Gingerbread Cookies
We like making these happy GF men, but if you're more ambitious, the dough retains its shape well enough that you can use it to construct a gingerbread house. And thanks to the tablespoon of ground ginger, it's a tasty, spicy ginger cookie.
Gingerbread and Trappist Ale Ice Cream
To add to the gingerbread flavor and make this ice cream a bit more exotic, we added Chimay, a Trappist ale. It comes in fancy bottles and is made by monks, but more importantly, tastes like a holiday in a bottle: sweet, rich, and spicy, with hints of dried fruit and chocolate.
Spicy Gingerbread Cut-outs
Easy-to-decorate, ginger-y cut outs. A great idea for a holiday cookie swap.
Gingerbread Spice Mix
Gingerbread spices are endlessly customizable. This version balances warm, spicy flavors against cool, citrus-y ones, and has a cool finish of cardamom, anise, and black pepper. Unless you have a very good source for ground ginger, you're best grinding your own from whole dried versions. Add them to any gingerbread recipe instead of the regular spice mix.
Gingerbread Mad Men
Shaped to resemble man-about-town Don Draper, his repressed housewife Betty, and voluptuous secretary Joan, these spicy cookies have a depth of flavor as rich as the depth of these television characters.
