Food trucks are one of the most important food institutions in Austin. Trailers, carts, and trucks gather in parks and lots around the city, providing high-quality meal and snack options to the surrounding neighborhood. While on a long quest to find a delicious taco and queso at Torchy's Tacos, I came upon something even better: Holy Cacao, a neighboring trailer specializing in decadent sweets.

Holy Cacao is known for their cake balls and drinking chocolate, but I was in the mood for a something cold. I couldn't pass up the Cake Shake($5) when I read the decadent description: Your choice of vanilla or chocolate ice cream is blended with chocolate, white, red velvet, or carrot cake.

I picked vanilla ice cream and paired it with red velvet cake, which produced a nice rosy-colored drink. The shake contained probably about half a pint or more of Blue Bell ice cream and a huge chunk of red velvet cake. With just a splash of milk and a quick blend, my enormous shake was served up. The drinking experience was awesome and overwhelming. The cake had been blended to a nice crumbly texture, allowing for both sipping and chewing through the wide-mouth straw. The shake was sweet, simple, and refreshing. Now to try the other 7 flavor combinations!
