We missed out on writing about this delectable concoction when it was first introduced last summer, so when McDonald's decided to bring back the limited edition flavor, we jumped at the chance to try it.
This treat brings everything you would want in a McFlurry: soft ice cream, thick caramel syrup, and plenty large chunks of its namesake candy. Say what you will about McFlurries, but the chain certainly does not skimp on the mix-ins in these popular desserts. The combination of candy, syrup, and ice cream creates an overwhelming sugar rush, but not necessarily in a bad way. Rolos are a more interesting candy base than the one-dimensional M&M alternative because they bring both chewiness and crunch to the table.
This is one of the best flavored McFlurries McD's has to offer. It might be ill-advised to try to eat the whole thing on your own, but on a hot summer day, why the heck not? Just be prepared for the unavoidable crash and burn after this epic sugar high.
