Here's what I've learned in the past year: If you want to write a column about breakfast sweets, you'd better a) like eating granola, muffins, and quick breads for dinner and b) you better like having house guests, because they will be integral in helping you consume everything that you bake. Luckily I comply with both those rules, which makes me happy to continue finding a weekly sweet treat for you to serve before noon.

If, however, you find yourself baking for breakfast only occasionally, for brunches and other special occasions, here's a cheat sheet—my top ten favorite recipes from the last year.

Go Straight to the Recipes

Braided Strawberry Cheese Bread
Cornflake Crumbles
Individual Rosemary Polenta Loaves
Ultimate Tropical Granola
Sugar Plum Scones
Double Chocolate Bread
Dutch Baby
Oatmeal Banana Breakfast Bars
Greek Yogurt and Strawberry Phyllo Cups
Glazed Key Lime Bread
