Slideshow SLIDESHOW: First Look: Salt & Straw, Portland

Salt & Straw, which started last year as a tiny ice cream cart, recently opened its second brick-and-mortar scoop shop on NW 23rd Avenue in Portland, Oregon. Cousins Kim and Tyler Malek wanted to create an inviting atmosphere where customers could enjoy local coffee and delicious ice cream.

Salt & Straw carries nine core ice cream flavors and up to six rotating seasonal selections. Flavors such as Dandelion Sorbet with Spring Flowers and Rhubarb Crumble with Toasted Anise are all produced using local, sustainable, and organic ingredients. Slow churned with 17% butterfat, this is the real deal.
