The Sugar Cube, Portland's self proclaimed badass dessert cart, is the brainchild of Kir Jensen, a pastry chef with an eye for the unconventional.

Jensen's pink truck puts out some of the most thrilling desserts in the city. They're delicious and creative as well as being well, let's call them creatively titled. Badonkadonk Shortcake, anyone? Or how about a Chocolate Bananagasm Muffin?

The Sugar Cube collects Jensen's greatest hits, capturing her style and sense of humor perfectly. As a bonus, the recipes are annotated with helpful tips and anecdotes that explain the origins of these sweet creations.

For the next two weeks we're going to be hopping on The Sugar Cube and baking our way through the book. We'll be kicking things off with Scone Thugs-n-Harmony (couldn't resist making those), baking up a batch of Twisted Toll House cookies, and making our own Black and White Sesame Brittle.
