I Can't Stop Eating 'Chocolate Salami,' or 'Salame de Chocolat'

How do you look at a friendly log of chocolate and not pick it up? I bought this "chocolate salami" on a whim, but now I can't stop eating it. It's a confection common in both Portugal and Italy (I bought this guy in Lisbon on the way back from Italy, actually). The "salame" gimmick is obvious, but I think it's quite cute: a long, dark cylinder is flecked with lighter bits—cookie crumbles that mimic the fat of salami.

The combination of chocolate and crunchy bits, like a Kit Kat or Crunch bar, is one I find pretty irresistible. But this is even better, probably because it's less sweet than a candy bar, and much less dense. Texturally it's somewhere between a chocolate fudge and a cookie dough, a little bit lighter and with a little bit of egg. So whereas a square of fudge is reasonably satisfying, this guy is just the right level of "not too heavy," making it easy to eat one slice, and another, and another.

Anyone as addicted to the stuff as I am?
