Calling all Krispy Kreme aficionados: the revered doughnut chain is throwing its hat, or rather its egg-shaped doughnuts, into the ring this Easter season with two glazed ovoid treats. But buyer beware—you need a seriously developed sweet tooth to appreciate these guys. Filled with frosting and topped with glaze, they're sugar bombs that even fans of Krispy Kreme's regular glazed doughnut might find a bit over the top.

Sprinkled Chocolate Iced Egg with Kreme Filling


Featuring a colorful dome of sprinkles atop a thin layer of chocolate glaze, this doughnut also harbors a hefty dose of vanilla frosting in its middle. Light and airy on the outside, dense and buttery on the inside, it would please fans of Boston creme doughnuts.

Drizzled Iced Egg with Chocolate Kreme Filling


Bright orange-tinted vanilla glaze enrobes this doughnut, which is filled with a fluffy, chocolate mousse-like frosting. I favored this doughnut, which is both slightly less sweet and substantially less dense than the sprinkled option.

Easter doughnuts are available at participating Krispy Kremes through April 8th.
