Marshmallow Madness Recap Week Two: Southwest

Welcome to week two of Marshmallow Madness, a month-long competition that pits sixteen regional food bloggers (and their marshmallows) against each other. This week we're heading out to the sunny Southwest to weigh in on the marshmallowy action.
First up we've got Chai Latte Marshmallows from Baked Bree. Taking a cue from her favorite spicy-warm beverage, Bree whipped up a batch of mallows scented with black tea, allspice, cardamom, and cloves, finishing them up with a final dusting of cinnamon.

Next we've got Barbara Bakes who set out to improve upon the worst marshmallows she could think of, those dried out little specimens found in a box of Lucky Charms. Her magically delicious Lucky Charm Marshmallows were tinted pastel shades of yellow, pink, and green, and coated with edible glitter and lemon juice powder before being cut into stars, hearts, and clovers.

Cake baker, dinner maker, and picture taker Foodie Bride chimed in with her own grown-up take on the squishy treat, Baileys Marshmallows. The concept here was to add a little extra warmth and comfort to hot chocolate by floating a few Baileys-spiked marshmallows on top, making for melty, boozy chocolate treat.
We'll be announcing the winner of this sweet bracket on March 19th, but for now you can follow along here with our Monday recaps and check out the action in realtime on Twitter by using the hashtag #MarshMadness.
