Marshmallow Madness Recap Week Four: Southeast
March has been quite the month of marshmallow-y action around here. For the past four weeks we've seen bloggers from all over the country go head to head, vying for ultimate marshmallow supremacy. This week we're wrapping up the competition with our Southeastern contenders and announcing the big winner chosen by none other than Shauna Sever, author of the consummate guide to all things marshmallow, Marshmallow Madness. So without further ado, let's get to our last round of mallows.
Stephanie of Ice Cream Before Dinner didn't want to create a recipe that merely used the marshmallow as the ingredient, she was looking for something that would showcase the marshmallow as the star. And Raspberry Cheesecake Marshmallows, vanilla marshmallows swirled with raspberry sauce and studded with chunks of cheesecake, did the trick.
The Kitchenarian has gained marshmallow notoriety over the years by making mallows for her kids so participation in Marshmallow Madness was pretty much a given. Her entry was a tasty batch of Cinnamon Toast Marshmallow with a secret ingredient—butter!
We certainly don't want to play favorites but there's something about Nibble Me This's all-marshmallow plate of bacon and eggs that stole our hearts. Of course reading about botched attempts at making marshmallow ribs didn't hurt either.
Love and Olive Oil came up with the ultimate cross-over event for this challenge, Cookie Dough Swirl Marshmallows, a combo that is "cookie dough meets marshmallow meets happiness," according to Lindsay of Love and Olive Oil.
So now the only thing left to do is see whose marshmallows reigned supreme. We'll be checking with Marshmallow making guru Shauna Sever to find out which mallow takes first prize. Stay tuned for the dramatic conclusion!
