We've always suspected that CakeSpy aka Jessie Oleson had a little more than a thing for sweets, but after seeing her breakfast habits we can see that it's way bigger than we originally suspected. You see, this innocent looking Trompe L'oeil Bagel with Cream Cheese is, in fact, an illusion, a wolf in sheep's clothing, a doughnut sandwich masquerading as a healthy breakfast.

And we have to admit, this sneaky recipe adapted from Jessie's new cookbook, CakeSpy Presents Sweet Treats for a Sugar-Filled Life, is pure and simple genius.

While some folks might turn their noses up at a doughnut slathered in buttercream frosting, Jessie has solved this problem by crafting a clever disguise out of a cake doughnut, a little bit of butter, and a sprinkling of poppy seeds, making for a sugary breakfast bomb that can be enjoyed without judgment by those who can't grasp the need to indulge the old sweet tooth in the a.m. hours.
