Creamy Look Chocolate
It's not just Creamy Look, it's got creamy taste too. Dark chocolate around a chocolate ganache with tiny tiny tiny crunchies (think: the little crystals inside a block pr well-aged Parmigiano-Reggiano).
Chocolate-flavored wheat tuile wrapped around a creamy vanilla center, with the ends dipped in dark chocolate. I like to pretend it's a tiny harmonica and play the chocoblues.
Does anything make these Kit Kat's different from their American counterparts? Not really. Same candy, different, classier hat. This is the kind of Kit Kat you eat if you want to win over the ladies.
It's almost as fun to say as it is to eat. A chocolate bar with the texture of a Nestlé Crunch, but instead of puffed rice, it's got tiny bits of malt-puff shrapnel that give it a distinct caramelly flavor.
It's not just dark chocolate, it's black chocolate. Er, yeah. It's just dark chocolate. Creamy, bitter, a little bit too sweet.
Regular Meiji milk chocolate. It's got the creamy meltiness of British-style Cadbury's, but without the overt sweetness.
The most adultiest looking of the bunch, Meltyblend is also one of the best. Creamy (not chewy) caramel coated with a dusting of bitter cocoa. It's like a well-made truffle for kids pretending to want to be adults with childlike tendencies. Or something like that.
Taste like inside out Kit Kat, with a wheaty, wafery shell around a chocolate center with crispy bits. Nice and toasty.
A white chocolate shell around a creamy pudding center capped with a bit of milk chocolate. It's not all that chocolatey, and not all that pudding-y, but still oddly tasty.
Ghana Milk Chocolate
Meh. Tastes an awful lot like the sweet milk chocolate I used to get in my Scandinavian advent calendar, if you know what I mean.
Meiji Marshmallow and Chocolate Biscuit Chocolates
Rich chocolate with little stretchy nuggets of honest-to-goodness marshmallow or crisp baked chocolate biscuits. The flavor of the marshmallow gets lost in the chocolate, but it's an interesting textural experience nonetheless.
Meiji Chocolate Minis
A five pack of different flavors—candy coated chocolate, candy coated strawberry cream, strawberry-tipped chocolate cones, coffee-flavored chocolate beans, and odd peg-shaped mini chocolate logs with a funny fruity aroma. We're not sure what you can spell with the letters Q, S, U, E, and A. Queas? Squea?
You remember the creamy version of strawberry Frozen Fruit popsicles? This is what they'd taste like if they came in room-temperature stable bar form. Very creamy, with real bits of strawberry.
Despite the almonds on the front of the box, they taste a lot like Japanese sembe rice crackers coated in chocolate. One of our favorites, with a sweet and savory balance, and a good crisp crunch.
Kyoro-Chan Peanut and Caramel Chocolates
The bar features peanuts in crispy cracker shells or chewy artificial-tasting caramel. We agree with the lip-smacking avian on the front of each package: This one's for the birds.
Dars Milk Chocolate
A tad gritty with a distinct caramel flavor and not much chocolatiness. Extremely sweet.
